Entities that make, process, pack, hold, ship or sell foods on the FDA Food Traceability List.
What the sources say
The original compliance date for the recordkeeping requirements was 20 Jan 2026. FDA proposed to extend it by 30 months to 20 Jul 2028. In Oct 2026 FDA announced a draft enforcement discretion policy for certain small retail food establishments and restaurants, and a virtual public meeting on 6 Nov 2026 about lot level tracking and possible flexibilities.
What we could not confirm. The countdown points to the public meeting, which is not a compliance deadline. Check the FDA page for the current compliance date.
