Per a KPMG summary of the Nigeria Revenue Service notice: medium taxpayers go live on 1 Jul 2026, have a post go live review in Oct to Nov 2026, and face compliance enforcement in Jan to Mar 2027. Emerging taxpayers have go live on 1 Jul 2027 and enforcement in Jan to Mar 2028. Large taxpayers were scheduled for enforcement in Apr to Jun 2026.
What we could not confirm. The countdown on this page points to 1 Jan 2027, the start of the medium taxpayer enforcement window. NRS has not given a single day. News reports say the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry asked for a six month penalty free transition on 14 Oct 2026. We have not seen a response from NRS. Check the NRS notice before acting.
