What the sources say
HashiCorp's HCP documentation lists three dates: end of new box and registry creation on 1 Oct 2026, end of support and maintenance on 2 Nov 2026, and end of operations on 31 Dec 2026, when remaining deployments are decommissioned. The community edition on GitHub, including the CLI, stays available, so you can build boxes locally or host them yourself. HashiCorp says customers using boxes become responsible for hosting costs at their chosen provider.
What we could not confirm. The countdown points to 2 Nov 2026, the end of support. The hard stop is 31 Dec 2026. We read the HashiCorp docs page and did not see a publication date on it.
